The Founder

The Prabhuji Food distribution program was founded by Prabhuji, H.H. Avadhūta Bhaktivedānta Yogācārya Śrī Ramakrishnananda Bābājī Mahārāja, the founder of the Prabhuji Mission, a Hindu religious, spiritual, and charitable organization.

Prabhuji is writer, an artist, painter, and composer. In 2011 he adopted the path of a secluded bhajanānandī and withdrew from society to lead the contemplative life of a hermit. Since then, he has been living as an independent Christian-Marian Hindu religious hermit. His days have been spent in solitude, praying, writing, painting, and meditating in silence and contemplation.

He was born in Santiago, the capital of the Republic of Chile, on March 21, 1958. When he was eight years old, he had a mystical experience that sparked his search for the Truth. Since then, he has devoted his life to deepening the early transformative experience that marked the beginning of his process of involution.

For more than fifty years, he has been exploring and practicing various religions and spiritual paths. In his view, the awakening at the level of consciousness, or the transcendence of the egoic phenomenon, is the next step in humanity’s evolutionary process.

Prabhuji’s vast literary contribution includes books in Spanish, English, and Hebrew, such as Kundalini Yoga: The Power is in you, What is, as it is, Bhakti-Yoga: The Path of Love, Tantra: Liberation in the World, Experimenting with the Truth, Advaita Vedanta: Be the Self, Yoga: union with reality, commentaries on the Īśāvāsya Upanishad and the Diamond Sūtra, I am that I am, The Symbolic turn, Being, Questioning your answers: Philosophy as a question, Beyond answers: Philosophy in the eternal quest, Phenomenology of the sacred: Foundations for a Retroprogressive Phenomenology, and Discovering the Last God.

Prabhuji shares his vision and teachings with a small group of his close disciples, that live with him in the Avadhutashram. Some of those talks and lectures are filmed and posted on our YouTube channel. Prabhuji speaks about a wide range of spiritual topics and paths, shedding light on them with his unique vision and realization.

In the year 2003 He founded the Prabhuji Mission, which from its very beginning carried out extensive philanthropic work in the USA, based on the principles of karma yoga, selfless work performed with dedication to God.

The Prabhuji Food Distribution Program was founded by Prabhuji in 2014 as a direct continuation of a series of humanitarian Projects he initiated, including food rescue program in NYC, and distribution of sandwiches to the homeless in NYC,
