Looking ahead

Looking ahead we seek to expand our food storage and transportation capacity to meet rising demand in Greene County and surrounding areas, where we currently provide nutritious food to an average of 1,436 people each month.

KEY INVESTMENTS NEEDED

  • Refrigerated truck → $55,000 (We have applied for a major grant to try and cover most of this investment. If we receive this grant a small gap of 5,000 remains).
  • Insulated shed for food storage → $6,900.
  • Regular shed for equipment storage → $5,050.
  • Electric pallet jack → $2,700.
  • Road safety equipment → $2,000.
  • Additional equipment- folding tables → $840.
  • Canopy for winter operation arena → $3800
  • Electric outlets for winder heaters → $600

Total Project Cost: $ 76,490

Remaining Gap to Fill: $26,490 (after grant approval).

EXPECTED IMPACT

  • Increased potential of 2,300 + individuals per month will gain reliable access to fresh food.
  • 30% increase in perishable food distribution capacity.
  • 60% increase in total food distribution capacity.
  • Safer, more efficient operations for staff, volunteers, and families.
